Joy in the Mourning

My daughter Laura recently wrote a story about how God has brought her through her sister’s death. It was submitted at a Fine Arts Festival held this summer in Orlando. The category was to write a First Person Essay with the topic to be about the word “Extraordinary.” It is my hope and prayer that this story will help you in whatever you are facing and that God will do an extraordinary work in your life!

P.s. This story was selected as the 3rd best in the nation for this category. I am very thankful, not so much for the placement, but for having been blessed to be the father of Katie and my two other children, Brian and Laura. They have, and continue to be, extraordinary examples to me, as day by day we continue our journey together in this ministry He has ordained for us.

Your daughters’ faiths and yours continue to encourage me. Thank you for sharing the essay. The writing style is mature. The insight and faith even better. May I have the same. Thank you again.

Thank you for posting this essay so that we could read it. As a coordinator of Fine Arts for the Illinois District, it thrills me to see students taking the gifts that they’ve used in Fine Arts and using them outside of that venue to reach others for God’s glory. May God continue to use Laura mightily as she shares what God has worked in her life. May God continue to comfort you and your family in the days ahead. Blessings.

After listening to your CD about your journey of comfort with Jesus, I realized what a great gift you have! You are overflowing with hope, peace, comfort for the many who need it so desperately. Katie’s happy today! And you are living out your divine purpose, just as she did ~ and bringing God great glory in the process! This is His purpose, and by His grace, you’ve courageously answered His call…and this world, is blessed for it! Praise His Name! For Jeremiah 29:11 is true and He shall NEVER leave us nor forsake us! I am so glad I get to call you my “forever family”. Love you so much, Lisa
